Brian Razzaque's Initial Blog Post

For quite some time I have had rather ambitious plans surrounding the VMT Blog portion of our website. Every day our programmers solve dozens of problems ranging from the mundane to the bizarre. These issues span the gamut of the technologies that we work with, and many of the problems are generic in nature and require a bit of research to resolve.

Often we are able to fix the issues we encounter only because some gracious developer out on the Internet was kind enough to post their own experiences to a blog or forum somewhere. If not for these postings, our job would be quite a bit more difficult.

As a reult, in the spirit of giving back to the community, I've directed our programmers to start their own blogs and post the solutions to whatever issues they may encounter.

I expect that my own blog will be a bit different, since getting my hands dirty with code is not my primary role. Rather, I spend most of my time consulting with our clients. Most of this consulting work deals with understanding their business processes, and then helping to determine how technology can be leveraged to make those processes function better. As a result, I expect that my own blog will contain not only technical fixes, but also some general insight that I may gain as a result of my experiences.

With that, welcome to my blog.  I hope that you find something useful here.
