VMT Signs as Google Apps Authorized Reseller

VMT recently signed up as a Google Apps Authorized Reseller. Google Apps allows businesses to implement powerful communication and collaboration tools cost-effectively, including the following services:

• Gmail
• Google Talk
• Google Calendar
• Google Docs
• Google Sites
• Google Video

Many of our customers use Gmail for personal use, and are surprised when they find out that the same service can be tied to their domain name in a way that is totally transparent.

Gmail is a great alternative to other email solutions, in that it has some of the best anti-spam capabilities around, is web-based, can still be accessed with Outlook or other clients, and integrates tightly with your Blackberry or iPhone. Since it is provided as a hosted service you don't have the hassle of having to administer your own server. Many of our clients switch to Google Apps just for the email service.

There are a bunch of other great reasons to explore Google Apps. Google Talk allows you to chat with anyone inside or outside of your organization. Google Calendar gives you shared group calendar capabilities, as well as a newly integrated task management feature. And with Google Sites you can deploy stand-alone websites for group collaboration quickly and easily.

Google Apps is offered as a free service for organizations with up to 100 users. The free service offers users up several gigs of storage and most of the features of the enterprise product. The enterprise solution is $50 per user per year, and provides additional storage, service level guarantees, and additional value-adds such as integrated single-sign on.
