VMT Launches Website for Dr. Ben Carson TNT Movie

Did you see the recent movie on TNT "Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story"?  It stars Oscar® winner Cuba Gooding Jr. as local hero Dr. Benjamin Carson, world-renowned neurosurgeon at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.  We hope you did, and we hope you liked it.  For almost 10 years VMT has been supporting Dr. Carson and his foundation, The Carson Scholars Fund.

VMT is proud to have launched a new website for Dr. Carson and the Carson Scholars fund timed to coincide with the launch of the movie.  We worked with design partner August Interactive to create the look-and-feel, and the entire site was built and deployed in Drupal.

The site was flooded with traffic during the premier, when over 160,000 concurrent users hit the site all at once.  I'm working on a whitepaper right now to talk about how we optimized the site to handle the traffic, but even now they are averaging several hundred users per hour.
